A Weather is AWESOME!!!

the title of this post is good enough, but i'll go more in depth for all the little people, the big people, and the little people who think they're big people (wannabes).
From deep within the confines of the storied Portland mist comes indie-folk outfit A Weather.
At the core of A Weather’s warm, soft-spoken sounds are the comely vocals of frontman/singer/songwriter Aaron Gerber and singer/drummer Sarah Winchester. With remarkable restraint and understated delivery, their harmonies trace each other, cross paths, diverge and intertwine, undercutting the gravity of A Weather’s material. “In one way Cove is a catalogue of closely observed moments and particulars,” says Gerber. “In another it is an oddly inspirational document of transience and entropy and trying to keep yourself together when things are falling apart.” (stolen from the label's website) A weather is extremely talented the album Cove is definitely worth buying, after just listening to a few song from this band i was hooked.
here's a couple mp3s:

It's Hard Being a Peasant, Listen To This Guy To Feel All Better
http://www.last.fm/music/Peasant
http://www.myspace.com/peasant
Peasant is an amazing folk musician, he reminds me of Chad VanGaalen without the psycho-electronica and the punk influnces (i think). Peasant is 24 year old Damien DeRose. Recording and writing in a 1 bedroom apartment, he likes to eat bagels and swim in creeks (freshwater only). Set to release a new record in early 2010, Shady Retreat is Peasant's finest work to date... available on Paper Garden Records! (part of this was copied from his last.fm)
Peasant - "All the Times"
Peasant - "Alley"

Sub Pop Spreads Out It's Tree Limbs and Signs a Bunch of New Bands!
Wow sub pop, how many bands do you need to sign, 20 more? well it's not all sub pop's fault these bands are just awesome.
Happy Birthday
Do you remember how Pop rock used to be, before it became amazingly teeny and well gay? happy birthday is that band. they simply have a cool sound, you can't help not to love it. "Girls FM" is a really catchy song, filled with a lot of love and whatever else Happy Birthday shoved in the background of the song.
Happy Birthday - "Girls FM"
Dum Dum Girls
Noise pop, definitely only something our generation could come up with, but this band is actually quite good with similarities to the Vivian Girls. "Jail La La" definitely caught me off guard, when i pressed play i was expecting something more punkish, but the song is actually very catchy with nice voice, definitely worth buying off itunes, luckily for all of us, sub pop is nice enough to just give it to us.
Dum Dum Girls - "Jail La La"
The Dutchess & the Duke
get out a ten dollar bill and buy Sunset / Sunrise because that album is just awesome. Folk is beautiful and The Dutchess & the Duke masters it's beauty. "Living This Life" has so much beauty it's hard not to listen to it. "Hands" has a nice blues/soul feel to it, so buy the freakin album already!
